# Google demand and gap

> How many impressions the question behind a prompt gets on Google, and how much of it you miss in AI answers.

On the **Prompts** page, prompts generated from Google Search Console have two extra columns: how much real interest
the question has on Google, and how much of that interest you don't win in AI answers.

## Google demand

**The real impressions the search received on Google**, measured in your Search Console, over the last 90 days —
not an estimated keyword volume.

- It is read only once, when the prompt is generated from Search Console. It does not depend on the period chosen in
  the app.
- Prompts you wrote yourself or that were suggested another way have no Google demand; the column shows "—".
- On hover you see the Google search, your position in Google and the date it was read.

## Gap

**The Google demand that AI answers don't win**: the impressions, weighted by how often you are missing from answers.

```
gap = Google impressions × (1 − prompt visibility ÷ 100)
```

### Example

A search has 1,200 impressions on Google. Its prompt names you in 25% of AI answers:

```
1,200 × (1 − 0.25) = 900
```

The color shows how much you are missing: red from 60% of answers without you, yellow from 25%.

### What counts and what doesn't

- The prompt's [visibility](https://survelium.com/docs/metrics/visibility.md) is for the chosen period and model; the impressions are not.
- With no impressions or no answer in the period, the gap is "—" and the row goes to the bottom of the sort.

## How to read it

Sort by **Gap**: at the top are the questions people already ask often on Google and for which AI assistants
still don't name you. That is where it's worth working first.

## Where it appears
